چکیده
We present a new numerical scheme to solve efficiently scattering problems involving an elongated and flat heterogeneous dielectric material assumed be invariant along direction of space. The technique consists compressing the integral operators integro-differential formulation with so-called quantized tensor train (QTT) algorithm whose use is rather original in this context. show that it allows compute store notably small memory footprint while having at same time fast matrix-vector product (MVP) leading competitive method compared more classical $\mathcal {H}$ -matrix approach.

A High-frequency Integral Equation Method for Solving Em Scattering Problems Involving Large Faceted Bodies
A novel technique for efficient and rigorous solution of the problem of electromagnetic scattering from 2D-faceted conducting bodies is introduced in this paper. The Electric Field Integral Equation (EFIE) is solved by resorting to analytically-derived basis functions that preserve some of the desired features of the high-frequency solutions. The sub-domains in which the basis functions are def...
متن کاملLow Frequency Scattering by Circular Dielectric Cylinder: New Polarizability Tensor
This paper considers the low-frequency scattering by a circular dielectric cylinder and modifies the exact polarizability tensor to extend the valid region of the known low-frequency solution. When compared to the traditional formulation, the proposed solution is shown to be valid for cylinders with a higher dielectric constant and larger radius. key words: low frequency scattering, polarizabil...
متن کاملA new high-order high-frequency integral equation method for the solution of scattering problems II: Multiple-scattering configurations
We present a high-order, high-frequency solver for the numerical solution of problems of electromagnetic or acoustic scattering by bounded surfaces. This algorithm, which combines the use of an ansatz for the unknown density in a boundary integral formulation with an extension of the ideas of the method of stationary phase, can resolve problems of arbitrarily high-frequencies with a prescribed ...
متن کاملA Fictitious Domain Decomposition Method for High Frequency Acoustic Scattering Problems
It is well known that most PDE problems defined over an axisymmetric domain can be efficiently solved by a Fourier based solution method. However, for many applications, the underlying computational domain is not entirely axisymmetric, but has one or several major axisymmetric subdomains. For such problems, an axisymmetric analysis method is not applicable, and a straightforward one can be inef...
متن کاملA collocation method for high frequency scattering by convex polygons
We consider the problem of scattering of a time-harmonic acoustic incident plane wave by a sound soft convex polygon. Standard boundary or finite element methods, with a piecewise polynomial approximation space, have a computational cost that grows linearly with respect to the frequency of the incident wave. Recently ChandlerWilde and Langdon proposed a novel Galerkin boundary element method fo...
